English Paper Piecing Kit UK + Our New Interactive Zoom Craft Club

This month at Curious Octopus, we’re doing something completely new… English Paper Piecing Kit UK.

If you’ve never heard of it before, don’t worry, this is a beginner-friendly craft and such a lovely one to learn. English Paper Piecing (or EPP) is a calming, mindful sewing technique that uses fabric and paper templates to create beautiful shapes and patterns, and this month we’ll be using it to create a gorgeous hexagon project step by step.

It’s one of those crafts that looks seriously impressive but is actually really relaxing once you get going, making it perfect whether you’re completely new to sewing or just fancy trying something different.

A Big Change: We’re Moving to Zoom 🎉

I’ve also been listening, and one thing I really want Curious Octopus to be is more than just a craft box that lands on your doorstep.

So this month, we’re making a big change.

Instead of our usual one-way live workshop, this month’s live will be hosted on Zoom as an interactive creative night.

This means:

• More community

• More chance to ask questions

• More support if you get stuck

• More of a relaxed monthly craft night feel

Think less “watch me do it” and more “let’s actually sit down and make something together.”

You’ll be able to join me live to make this month’s English Paper Piecing project, finish an older Curious Octopus box you’ve not got round to yet, or simply come along for some creative company.

This shift is all about making Curious Octopus feel even more like a creative community.

No pressure. No perfection. Just carving out time for yourself, learning something new, and actually enjoying the process.
