Choosing an English Paper Piecing Kit
English Paper Piecing, or EPP, uses fabric and paper templates to build shapes and patterns by hand. Our past hexagon project is a useful example of a manageable first sewing project.
It’s one of those crafts that looks seriously impressive but is actually really relaxing once you get going, making it perfect whether you’re completely new to sewing or just fancy trying something different.

Check the kit instructions and lay out your fabric, paper templates, needle and thread. Practise on a small group of hexagons before planning a larger piece.
Keep the paper shapes organised and follow your pattern for basting and joining the fabric pieces.
